IXEurope Announces New Internet Exchange in Germany NDIX Peering Point launches at its DÃsseldorf IXDatacenter
London, 26 January 2005 NDIX, Europe's first crossborder Internet Exchange launched a new peering platform at IXEurope's stateoftheart datacenter in DÜsseldorf today. Based on the Foundry BigIron 8000, with a backplane that supports 256 Gbit/sec of traffic, this new platform will provide a vibrant marketplace for broadband suppliers and major users in the region.
NDIX is working with the European Commission Euregio project aimed at stimulating economic links between the Netherlands and Germany. As part of this initiative, NDIX has created networkrich Broadband Headends for education, research and commercial use in Enschede (NL), MÜnster (D) and now at the DÜsseldorf IXDatacenter.
